Like many churches, Steamboat Rock Baptist Church is undergoing a demographic shift as their congregation is getting younger and seeing more youth involvement. They also attract attendees from surrounding communities from an approximately 30 mile radius, contributing to the younger age of the congregation. Story worked with Building God’s Way, a church architecture firm out of Ogden, Utah, as the general contractor for this project. The church purchased land immediately south of the existing church, which became the site of the 9,000 sq. ft. addition. The addition houses the new sanctuary. The old 6,000 sq. ft. sanctuary is vaulted, allowing the space to be renovated into upper and lower areas. The upper area is a youth congregational space and the lower area houses office space.

Story Construction is the exclusive Iowa builder for Building God’s Way.
