Story Construction is pleased to announce that Project Superintendents Scott Kutchen, John Rogers and Rick Timm have been elected company shareholders effective Sept. 1, 2012, bringing the total number of shareholders to 25.
Story is an employee-owned construction company that was founded in 1972 from its predecessor James Thompson & Sons. Story currently has approximately 130 employees and operates one subsidiary, Story Design, Ltd., which provides in-house architectural and engineering design capabilities.

Scott Kutchen joined Story Construction in 2000 after graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Construction Engineering. He has worked on a variety of project types, including K-12 and higher education projects, water and waste water treatment plants, senior living facilities, offices, warehouses and a football stadium structural renovation. Some of Scott's most recent projects include overseeing the construction of Pella Christian High School (Pella, Iowa) and a new office building for Computer Transportation Services (Breda, Iowa). He is currently providing owner's representative services for a multi-year addition and renovation project for the Mason City Community School District (Mason City, Iowa).
John Rogers has held a number of responsibilities since joining Story Construction in 1997, serving as a carpenter, welder and foreman before being promoted to project superintendent. Much of his experience has been with industrial projects, water treatment plants and commercial office and warehouse facilities. He has worked on multiple jobs for JBS Swift and Cargill Meat Solutions, oversaw a concrete package for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Red Rock Dam and recently completed an office renovation project for Kreg Tool (Huxley, Iowa).
Rick Timm began working in the construction industry after graduating from Waverly-Shell Rock High School, eventually joining Story Construction in 1996 as a project superintendent. He has provided jobsite leadership on a number of project types, including water and waste water treatment plants, research facilities and K-12 education facilities. He recently completed work on a state-of-the-art livestock vaccine reserach facility for Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (Sioux Center, Iowa) and the Quakerdale Broer Center (New Providence, Iowa), and is now overseeing a second building project for BIVI in Sioux Center.
